October 2026 Ajarn Chai Update:

Greetings to the WTBA Family,

We reached a one-year milestone of Ajarn Chai returning to his US home after long months of recovery in the hospital and family home in Thailand. His immediate family opted to start him on natural remedies to avoid negative side effects from the chemo and immunotherapy treatment. The good news is that results of a recent CT scan reveal that the cancer in his lung has NOT changed size or spread, despite it being the aggressive type of cancer! We very much appreciate all the prayers and good wishes from his WTBA family and kindly ask to please continue…prayers can work miracles!

Ajarn’s birthday and Teacher’s Day are quickly approaching on Friday, October 16^th! Recent posting on social media and WTBA website can provide further details if you are interested in acknowledging your Muay Thai Instructor or Ajarn Chai’s birthday in a special way.

We are excited to hold the upcoming WTBA Instructor Development Camp (IDC) this coming Saturday and Sunday, October 17-18. A new approach using Zoom will allow us to reach a wider audience at five Host locations across the US. This offers participants the opportunity to learn from some of the most senior instructors under Ajarn Chai.

Planning for next year’s Oregon camp will resume with consideration of a new venue location. Given Ajarn Chai’s longer than expected recovery period, we are stepping back as we consider logistics, costs, and other resources. Further details will be shared in the future as soon as decisions are made.

We look forward to a new website that is also forthcoming. However, more work is needed to finalize improvements and other changes.

We continue to be thankful for your support and patience during Ajarn’s recovery phase and ongoing planning within the WTBA.

With love and appreciation,

Ajarn Chai’s Family and WTBA Office

WTBA INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT CAMP

October 17–18, 2026
REGISTER NOW!

We’re excited to offer a new way for more WTBA instructors and students to take part in Instructor Development Camp while helping reduce some of the time and expense that can come with traveling across the country for training.

This year, IDC will be hosted through multiple training locations connected live via Zoom. Participants can attend a host site closer to home while still being part of one shared training experience and receiving instruction from Senior Level WTBA Instructors throughout the weekend. You’ll train in person alongside other instructors and students at your host school.

Important: This is not an at-home Zoom seminar. Participants must attend one of the designated host locations to take part.

Registration Pricing
WTBA Student Members — $50/day
Non-WTBA Members — $100/day

Qualifying WTBA Instructor Memberships include camp participation as part of their membership benefits. (For details on WTBA membership options and requirements, visit thaiboxing.com.)

Great instructors never stop being students.

We hope you’ll join us this October as we continue learning, growing, and preserving the art of Muay Thai together.
