To all WTBA Instructors and Association Members,
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving with their family and friends. I will be in Thailand during Christmas and New Years and want to wish you and your family a good holiday season as well.
I’m glad to see more Instructors attending the Instructor Development Camps. There was good attendance at the West Coast IDC in November and I do appreciate the help of Ajarn Greg Nelson and Ajarn Bryan Popejoy, and also Ajarn Jeremy Wijers for stepping in to demonstrate the Four Count. Everyone who attended seemed to get a lot of good information and the opportunity to improve their form and training techniques. We will eventually have some of the video footage of the IDC posted for members to view.
At the West Coast IDC I announced that there will now be fewer Instructors being promoted to Senior level under the WTBA. This has been reserved for those who have been with me a long time training directly under me in Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) and have shown their commitment to advancing the art and supporting the WTBA. In the future when I retire or no longer with you, I will expect these Senior Instructors to follow my footsteps in promoting their students along the way at the different levels based on meeting certain requirements, the length of time they have trained with their Instructors, along with their dedication to promoting Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) and WTBA.
I look forward to seeing all my Senior Instructors attending the 2020 Oregon Camp and want you to celebrate with me. It will be 30 years of having the Thai Camp and you are the reason I started the camp and have continued to have it for you and your students. If you can’t make camp, also remember the East Coast IDC in April.
The new requirements for the Black Arm Band officially starts Jan. 1, 2020. More information can be found HERE when you log in to the website with your Instructor/Affiliate Membership. Like I said before, please follow this from now on instead of coming to me so it gives me more time to relax my mind and helps me rest from traveling each week.
If you have questions, send an email to info@thaiboxing.com instead of myself. I do get too many emails and cannot respond like before. I now have some help with answering your questions so it is better for me and the future of the WTBA.
I want to thank my students who have stood by me and offered their help during the year. A lot of you take personal time to help with the camps, website, and with many other things—thank you very much! I do appreciate it.
Thank you for your help and support.
Best to you,
Chai
