Test ready
I can't get to the Oregon camp this year but I am looking forward to seeing Master Chai in Atlanta. Bit of a pain getting there but it's the only place near here that he still goes to. I spoke with him in Miami and he has promised testing in Atlanta.
Been waiting for this for 5/6 years. Hoping to get some of the local crew to go but you know with the economy the way it is.
Hope to see some of you there.
Keep kickin'
Steve
Good luck on your test! I think some of us from the Miami group are going to head over to Atlanta.
Take care and best wishes!

Hey Carlos.
Hope everything is well. Tryin to get down to miami to say hello. Tell Sifu Dwight we said hello. Just got off the phone with Master chai and will be testing in Atlanta. Should be fun. He knows its been tuff for us with no TBA school to attend to get ready for the test. We train about 3 to 5 times a week in Thai but you really need the finishing touches to get ready for the test.
Hope to see you at Unified.

Steve,
Congrats on being able to test! You'll do great!
I'm sure you already have your game plan for the test but if you want the same advice Sifu Dwight told me then I suggest that when you kick don't stay there in one place and just try to blast 60 kicks and 40 knees like most people do.
They can't touch you, at least not as much, if you move around. What I mean is kick, move, kick, move and then add in the knees but use that formula so that you are constantly moving around. Just make sure every thing is 2 to 3 kicks if possible.
Don't sit there and do like 4 or 5 or whatever kicks. Doing that will make it easy for the feeder to time you and hit you.
Master Chai as you know orders the feeder to attack if you finish too early, so try when you do your practice thai tests in training try to finish at around 2 minutes and 30 or 40 seconds.
Moving around will kill some time for you. I think Master Chai told us the same thing.
Good luck and don't forget to move around!! :)
Take care.

Thanks Carlos.
I see your test is on youtube. I'm standing in the background. Great test. I will be coming down on Fridays to meet with John and Sifu Dwight to get some pointers soon. Looking forward to getting it over with. It's been a long time. Training alot. All good.
Hope to see you soon.
Steve
Carlos,
It was good to see you on Friday. Had a good time talking to Sifu Dwight. We are going to set up some privates with John before Atlanta. Sifu gave me a website to download the music. It doen't exist. We can't seem to find it. We have a short version of it, maybe 60 seconds. Can you let me know if you can find out where to find it? Much appreciate it.

Thanks guys. I sent away for the entire album from Thailand and it was all the wrong music. I understand there is fight songs as well but this is not the music from the TBA.
Phil, I did download it so thank you very much. It seems to be about 2 1/2 minutes. Is that enough or is it longer?
Went to Miami UMAA on sunday and met with John. It was an eye opener to say the least. Still training for the end of september so hopefully if all goes well we'll be testing. Carlos, you were right, that is the way you guys train. It will help alot.
Thanks everyone for all the help. Thai has always been one of those arts where people pull together and help. It is refreshing.
I just wanted to say that I have passed my level three test under the watchful eyes of Master Chai, Guru Inosanto and Sifu Fong. It could not have been more of an honor.
I want to thank everyone who helped and those who gave encouragement. I could not have done it without you. It was tough going it alone but Master Chai was so supportive. In my world he epitimizes what I think a master should be like. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
A deep thanks to Sifu Dwight, John and Carlos who got me as prepared as they could in the short time they had with me. John, you were right, it is a fight and that is the way you have to go into it. I would not have been ready (not that I was) if it hadn't been for you guys. Thank Franklin also, please.
This is just the beginning and I look forward to a long relationship with the TBA, Master Chai and the whole community.
Thank you, all.
Congrats Steve on passing your test!!
Congratulations on taking and passing your test!
